Nothing is lost in the poetry of a feeling of love and where eyes, ears and lips will not sense its beauty, penetrating and ineluctable a perfume will be able to hand down its essence.

Poetry and love for the simple beauty of life are the basis of the creations of Parfums Dusita, a French brand of high perfumery founded by Pissara “Ploi” Umavijani, Thailandese artist and daughter of the contemporary poet Montri Umavijani. A father of a complex and reserved personality whose legacy, witnessed by 23 books and hundreds of poems, thanks to the artistic sensibility of his daughter, becomes an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Pissara, whose name in Sanskrit translates a concept of total freedom, recognizes in poetry a deep affinity with the art of perfumery: where the first translates into verses the ephemeral beauty of the most precious moments, the second transposes their essence through notes and chords, like the ineluctable trace of an emotion that becomes tangible on the skin.

Perfumery is her greatest passion, handed down as an art in the culture of his home country, Thailand, and deepened through the study of historical fragrances that she collected over time.

In 2013 she moved to Paris where she founded Parfums Dusita, revealing her talent to the world and, at the same time, honoring the work of her famous father, who passed away in 2006.

The verses of a poem, imprinted inside the fragrance’s box,  convey inspirations and feelings of the composer as a prologue to the wonderful fragrant tale that comes to life by the intertwining of the most precious raw materials.

The first three fragrances of Parfums Dusita collection, in Extrait de Parfum concentration, come to life in 2015. Issara, a fresh and vigorous fougère fragrance that translates the exhilaration of freedom, Melodie de l’Amour, a sumptuous floral bouquet that pays tribute to the bliss of an intense feeling of love, and Oudh Infini, in which the powerful note of Oud Palao from Laos is set in the heart of an opulent composition dedicated to adventure and to discovery of distant and mysterious lands.

In 2016, Parfums Dusita presents the first two Eau de Parfum of the collection: Le Sillage Blanc and La Douceur de Siam.

Le Sillage Blanc, a sophisticated green-leather fragrance that pays homage to the great classics of the past through a modern interpretation of chypre accord. A bright opening of Neroli and orange flower, enlivened by the exotic sweetness of ylang ylang, evolve on a rich and intense heart, where a special accord of English leather, smoky and enigmatic, is balanced by the green aromatic freshness of Persian Galbanum and by Artemisia. In the green, woody and earthy base of the fragrance, the vigorous charm of oak moss intertwines the vegetal muskiness of precious Indian Ambrette seeds, melting into a warm and sensual embrace of patchouli.

In Buddhist-Siamese tradition, the word “Dusita” means Paradise, an inner realm where beauty, joy, serenity and fulfillment coexist in harmony and from which the perfume house draws its name. The same charming grace evoked by La Douceur de Siam, a fragrance that pays homage to the ancient Siamese custom of perfuming clothes with Chalood Bark, a special vanillic and woody accord. A sublime floral composition whose inspiration is surrounded by the romantic aura of a twilight, when the sky is tinged in the shades of pink and gold, in the last glow of a sunset that slowly fades. An accord of Rose de May and Damascena rose transversely traces the composition, melting into a soft bouquet of Frangipani, Jasmine, orris butter and Champaca, outlined by the balsamic sweetness of  ylang ylang, sprinkled with fresh hints of violet leaf and enlivened by a vibrant spicy touch of cloves. A warm breeze of cinnamon and Thai Chalood Bark rises from the heart of the fragrance before giving way to a creamy and sensual base where vanilla absolute embraces Mysore sandalwood and an aphrodisiac accord of amber in which Pissara adds a hint of ambergris.

“The twilight hour comes: even my grief is swept away by the anonymity of life”, writes the poet Montri Umavijani, telling of that moment of splendor when, relieved from troubles and worries, his heart finds refuge in the sheer and simple beauty of existence.
